Brian Levin: This student means business Posted on May 24th
Brian Levin’s résumé reads like that of a worldly businessman instead of a high school teenager.
The 18-year-old senior at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire has traveled to 55 countries and six continents, founded and manages his own hedge fund and guest-lectured in front of a summer school class on international business at Harvard University.
And Levin takes volunteering as seriously as his studies; he earned a perfect ACT score and perfect grade-point average while making time over his last summer vacation to volunteer in Mexico, teaching English to Mayan children.
“I couldn’t spend a whole summer just doing nothing—my conscience just wouldn’t let me do that,” said Levin, a fluent Spanish speaker. “So I decided to volunteer.”
